The Relationship Between Maintenance of the Criminal Code and Group Denial in a Substance Abuse Population: Its Effect on Treatment

When attempting to provide psychological treatment to a population of substance abusers in a maximum security prison the therapist must consider the effects of the criminal code on treatment. The following article defines the code, delineates some of the obvious effects on treatment, and offers some suggestions on how to counteract its influences.
