In the past the focus in studying the serial murderer has been on descriptions of the heinous crimes, profiling, and other law enforcement issues. Through analysis of childhood, adulthood experiences, and personality traits, some tentative factors emerge that set the process in motion for the later emergence of this remarkably antisocial behavior.
