Patterns of Homicide in North India: Some Sociological HypothesesDepartment of Sociology, Cleveland State University, Cleveland, Ohio 44115, U.S.A. Numerous and varied incidents of homicide are provided. The typical psychiatric and criminological hypotheses appear to be inadequate. Rather a sociological explanation based on rapidly shifting societal major upheavels seem to be a sounder hypothesis.
