A Study of Socio-Demographic Characteristics of Individuals Evaluated for InsanityIsaac Ray Center, 1720 W. Polk St., Chicago, IL 60612
Social and demographic characteristics were com pared for 115 clinically evaluated and legally adjudicated on the issue of sanity. Prior history of schizophrenia, previous treat ment with psychoactive medication, absence of alcoholism, and completion of high school were all associated with individuals being clinically evaluated and legally adjudged insane. These and other findings were discussed with respect to the current research on insanity determinations.
